What kind of sauces are they?

They’re universal sauces (unrestricted in their applications). They can replace your condiment, salad dressing, marinade, wing sauce, ketchup , dipping sauce, and even as a BBQ and grilling sauce! Also all of our sauce are considered and used as a complete seasoning as well. That means that they don’t need to be doctored up, added to, or altered! They’re complete right out of the bottle, which save you time and money creating real value!

How mild and hot are your sauces?

Well, hot is subjective.  Genetics, culture, and experience are all contributing factors as to how hot or spicy a sauce can be to an individual.

Equalizer Maple BBQ & Smolder are (mild) sauces for people who don’t care for spicy foods but want exceptional flavor.

SS Maple BBQ & Flame (medium hot) both have with the right amount of kick, and are very well balanced in heat and amazing flavor!

Blaze & CodeRed (hot) sauces are satisfyingly hot, never before have there any sauces have this combination of flavor first then crescendoing heat!

On a heat scale of 1 to 10:

Equalizer Maple BBQ = 0 - 1

Smolder = 3 - 4

SS Maple BBQ = 4 - 5

Flame = 7 - 8

Blaze = 9

CodeRed = 10

What kind of pepper are each sauce made with?

Equalizer Maple BBQ sauce is made with mini sweet peppers.

Smolder is made with a 80/20 blend of sweet peppers and jalapeño peppers.

SS Maple BBQ sauce is made with sweet peppers and jalapeño peppers.

Flame is made with 100% jalapeño peppers.

Blaze is made with a 50/50 blend of Scotch Bonnet (sometime habanero peppers) and jalapeño peppers.

Code Red is made with 100% Scotch Bonnet and/or Habanero peppers with a blend of hot peppers and milder peppers.

What do you put the sauces on?

Every damn thing! Veggies, salads, potatoes, rice, beans, chicken, seafood, beef, pork, pasta, pizza, etc….the list goes on. The real questions is, “What don’t you put the sauce on?”

How much salt is in it?

Our hot sauces are low in sodium, containing 65mg-70mg per teaspoon serving, which equates to 3% daily value. Our maple BBQ sauce is 210mg, which equates to only 9% daily value, that’s low for BBQ sauce.

How much sugar is in it?

None of our sauces have any added sugar, we use only Organic Grade A maple syrup as a sweetener. Our hot sauces are low in carbs containing only 0 - 1g per teaspoon serving!

Our Maple BBQ sauce is lower in carbs compare to other brands of BBQ sauces with only 7 grams of sugar and 10 grams of total carbs, which equates to 3% daily value.

What’s the difference between organic apple cider vinegar with the Mother (which is an ingredient in Andre Gourmet Sauces) vs distilled vinegar?(which is commonly used in other brands of hot sauces)

Distilled vinegar is often made by fermenting grain alcohol or ethyl alcohol, and tends to be very high in acetic acid, while organic apple cider vinegar is made by fermenting cider or apple, as the name suggests. Organic apple cider vinegar contains a range of beneficial acids, like malic acid and acetic acid. Because apple cider vinegar is made from apples, it also contains multiple types of antioxidants called polyphenols which can have beneficial effects on health.

Beneficial ingredients in raw organic apple cider vinegar.

Potassium – helps to fight against brittle teeth, hair loss and runny noses.

Pectin – helps to regulate blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol.

Malic Acid – gives ACV the properties of being resistant to viruses, bacteria, and fungus.

Calcium – supports strong bones and teeth.

Ash – gives ACV its alkaline property which aids your body in maintaining proper pH levels for a healthy alkaline state.

Acetic Acid – It appears that this acid slows the digestion of starch which can help to lower the rise in glucose that commonly occurs after meals.

Why use organic maple syrup vs sugar, agave, molasses, etc?

We have always considered organic pure maple syrup a superior sweetener with trace minerals to the alternative sweeteners, like sugar, agave, molasses, high fructose corn syrup, etc. It is produced from the sap of a wild plant, which is boiled down using no additives or preservatives. With organic certification comes the guarantee of a sustainable production practice.

What does it takes for maple syrup to be certified organic?

Maple syrup must be certified by an USDA approved organic certification organization in order to be labeled organic. Standards for certification for maple syrup producers include, but not limited to:

  • No synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides (may have been used in preceding three years, adequate buffers exist, protection from runoff, etc.);

  • A written forest management plan (thinning programs, diversity, etc).

  • Adherence to tapping management guidelines (number of taps per tree, diameter of tree at first tapping, etc).

  • Use of certified organic defoamers.

  • Lead testing.

  • Auditable inventory tracking and record keeping.

  • Inspections by certifying agency.

Why do you use Celtic Sea Salt® vs conventional salt?

Celtic Sea Salt® - "The Original Brand" - is authentic, unprocessed, gourmet salt that retain their natural balance of the minerals and trace elements that our bodies need. There’s absolutely no additives or anything removed from the salt that would alter it. It has several times the mineral & moisture content of other leading salt brands. Conventional salt that’s normally used in hot sauce is very different from nature’s original seasoning, Celtic Sea Salt®. Conventional salts are mined from the earth with bulldozers and heavy machinery, often resulting in a negative environment impact. The salt is then iodized, bleached, and diluted with chemical anti-caking agents. Thus making conventional salt a far cry from naturally pure Celtic Sea Salt®. This is why Andre Gourmet Hot Sauce only uses Celtic Sea Salt®!

Doctor recommended since 1976.

Sustainably harvested.

Nutritionally superior over most salts available on the market.

Lower in sodium

Additive free

How long is the shelf life of Andre Gourmet Sauces?

All of our sauces have a two (2) year shelf life at ambient (room) temperature. Once opened, you don’t have to refrigerate the sauces, but you can refrigerate if you want a longer shelf life. You can still enjoy the freshness for about year without refrigeration.

Why don’t you have a reducer cap on the mouth of your bottles (smaller mouth) of sauces?

Our sauces are too thick to flow through the reducers freely. All of our customers like to use the sauces for more than just as a condiment, they cook, BBQ, marinade, and etc. The wider mouth allows for more applications. After the initial pour, our customers get use to the wider mouth. So be careful when pouring out our sauces. The good thing is, even when you over pour, it NEVER messes up or ruin a dish, just mix it in that’s all.

How and what got you into making gourmet hot sauces and BBQ sauces?

Discontentment. My dissatisfaction with the leading brands of hot sauces and BBQ sauces with their lack of taste, flavor, and healthier ingredients lead me on a journey and quest to find a better hot sauce. I was willing to pay more and build loyalty to such a product, only to find out it didn’t exist. So I created it, packaged it, and marketed it, and now it’s available for all of the world to enjoy! Cheers!
